POSITION PROFILE:
The Technician's primary responsibility is to set up and operate all phases of processing pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies for Navy, Space and Aerospace applications. Assemble and test production hardware and their subassemblies by following schematic and other written and/or verbal specifications. Troubleshoot problems that arise and rework units as required. Work with Quality and Engineering on failure investigations to derive root cause and corrective action. Assist Engineering with the build and test of qualification hardware.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
10-15 years of experience in a manufacturing/testing environment (Aerospace preferred)
Minimum of a High School Diploma
Airframe and Powerplant certification or a related field (preferred)
Solder certification to the IPC J STD-001E/NASA STD-8739 (preferred)
Knowledgeable in the areas of high pressure fluids, gasses and electronic test equipment
Familiarity with the application of Lean concepts, ESD, FOD control and personal protective equipment
Knowledge of AS9100, ISO standards and military specifications helpful.

Computer literate (MS Excel/Word)
Attentive to details and ability to understand and follow procedures
Good oral and written English skills
Good interpersonal skills

Demonstrate the ability to read, interpret documents (i.e. procedures, schematics/technical drawings, etc.) and use necessary measuring devices/equipment to confirm tooling/fixturing geometries and dimensions
Position requires a detail oriented individual who must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES /

Perform development testing and write test reports
Design fixtures for assembly and testing
Perform detailed failure investigations
The ability to resolve complicated issues with minimal or no supervision

The drive and ability to improve all aspects in assembly and test
Primary duty is to ensure that products perform their proposed functions in a satisfactory manner
Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with approved technical data, customer specifications and regulatory requirements including mil-specs
Must be able to setup and operate tools required for assembly including, but not limited to; standard hand tools, load testing devices, micrometers, depth mics, calipers and microscopes
Must be able to setup and operate equipment required for testing including, but not limited to; multimeters, ohmmeters, voltmeters, pressure, gauges and transducers, data recorders, load cells, and flow meters
Install, operate and maintain high-pressure nitrogen, helium and skydrol test equipment
Conduct end-of-line functional testing on valve components and record results
Assist with testing equipment maintenance and/or repair
Lock-wire and torque seal parts
Install internal components using arbor press and proper fixtures
Maintain accurate parts and part count for each job
Identify causes for test failures, rework and suggest corrective action as required, submit to supervisor for approval
Seek and document Lean ideas to improve the efficiencies of the company
Maintain all hand tools in clean working condition
Notify supervisor of any equipment that requires repair
Keep work station and test equipment clean and free of unnecessary debris
Properly handle and dispose of chemicals used, utilizing proper PPE (as required)
Identify any routings discrepancy and notify supervisor so changes can be made if necessary
ADDITIONAL DUTIES/
Responsibilities:
Required to read and understand schematics
Excellent organizational skills with focus on detail
Complete assigned jobs performing assembly, test set-up and test without supervision
Understand basic hydraulic concepts and the function of gages, flow meters and assemblies in the hydraulic systems
Ability to identify causes for test failures and perform requested rework without supervision
Must have good communication skills
Foster a positive, cooperative and safe work environment through effective communication at all levels of the Marotta organization
Actively participates in team meetings, root cause investigations, trouble shooting activities (as req'd), continuous improvement initiatives/programs, etc. to provide constructive recommendations and initiate actions to support company initiatives/goals/vision
Effectively communicate issues in a timely manner to all affected parties internal/external to the Marotta Organization
Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to various regulatory and internal system requirements
Will be required to perform other job duties as requested, directed or assigned
Work Environment:
Position entails exposure to typical manufacturing (i.e. Machine Shop, Assembly, Testing, etc.) environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
Continual repetitive use of hands and arms
Constant exposure to abrasive chemicals
Must be able to lift, stack and carry up to 40 lbs of machined product
Indoor manufacturing environment characterized by air hose noise
Contact with various hydraulic fluids (skydrol, red-oil etc.)
Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
Travel may be required (level: 10% - 20%)
